I'm a longtime user of cast iron and carbon steel pans, but this is my first piece from Stage Coach Forge. The quality of the craftmanship, fit, and finish on this 9" skillet are all excellent. I particularly like the thick, hammered, stainless steel handle. In addition to being a beautiful piece of blacksmithing work, this handle transfers heat less than a carbon steel handle. I plan to add the 11" version of this skillet to my collection.
We are a cast iron family and after seeing Stage Coach on the Essential Craftsman, I was interest and purchased a skillet. Boy, am I glad I did! It is very well made and my husband has used it everyday since it arrived. He loves it! We tell all our friends about it! We will definitely purchase another one!! I just received and unboxed my 9" copper handle hammered skillet it is awesome and more than I thought it would be. I'm on my way to the kitchen to give it a soap cleaning like instructed I'm excited to cook in it for the first time and I'm sure it won't disappoint. My next purchase will be the tongs.
I won't be able to use it until mid-Summer as my kitchen is being re-done.
