Culinary Pattern Welded Mosaic Damascus Gyuto Knife
This special mosaic chef knife took a lot of time to forge weld the pattern, but it was worth the effort. Starting with 9 layers, each weld was done meticulously on the antique 25-ton fly press. With an integral bolster and a desert ironwood handle, this multi-purpose knife is just as much fun to look at as it is to use. All this work is done to create the damascus billet before starting the regular forging process of creating the knife itself.
A gyuto knife is a traditional Japanese chef's knife used for working with vegetables, meat, and other general-purpose activities. Gyuto knives are dynamic utensils as they allow for chopping, slicing, disjointing, dicing, and julienning.

Care
Hand wash and dry immediately — high carbon steel will rust if left wet. Wipe with a light coat of oil before storing, and never put it in the dishwasher. Hone often and use a wood or plastic cutting board.
Protect your blade and handle: Our handmade Skillet Seasoning Wax, made with beeswax from the hives on our farm and cold-pressed avocado and coconut oil, conditions high carbon steel to prevent rust and keeps wooden handles from drying out or splitting. Completely non-toxic and food safe.
